Who We Are
NWVFD
The fire department operates on a volunteer basis and covers not only the Borough, but also some of the townships in Lawrence and Mercer counties. They also assist other fire departments when needed.

The fire department has two grass trucks, one engine, one rescue truck, and one water tender all equipped with tanks and pumps. In addition there are two emergency generators, breathing units with extra tanks and miscellaneous equipment. All equipment is on a county-wide radio band. In addition to the Borough, the New Wilmington Volunteer Fire Department covers Lawrence County to the south, Wilmington Township, Mercer County to Interstate 80 to the north, Cotton School Road to the west and Mercer Road to the east.

New Wilmington Volunteer Fire Department’s mission is
to minimize the loss of life and property resulting from fires,
medical emergencies and other crises from man-made or natural environments. Education, prevention, medical assistance and other related interactions will enable us to accomplish our mission. Active participation in our community, serving as role models, and utilizing all our resources effectively will allow
us to provide an excellent service to the citizens and visitors of our fire district.
